Ria was imported from Ian Christie's Squareclose Kennel in Fife, Scotland in October of 2003 at the age of four months. She quickly won us over and has become one of our very favorite dogs!

Ria is a seasoned hunter in the wheat fields, breaks, and CRP of eastern and central Montana. She completed her AKC Senior Hunter title in May of 2007 in western Washington with the minimum of five straight qualifying scores. She has quickly put together all the aspects of her training to become a very flashy but easily controlled hunting companion and open all-age field trial competitor. Ria has completed three all-age field trials in both the U.S. and Canada including a 68-dog Open in Colorado where she was the only amateur handled dog called back to the third series. In the spring of 2009 Ria placed 2nd in the open all-age stake at the Calgary, Alberta field trial.

Ria could best be described as an nice all-around dog: great in the kennel, quiet in the house and an all-day hunter in the field. She is a fabulous water dog with an excellent nose, a strong desire to retrieve, a beautiful delivery, and a nice soft mouth. We are planning a repeat breeding of Ria to Squareclose Vinnie in the spring of 2011.
